IMPORTANT - If you require this course to be run as an Appointed Persons First Aid Course, this will now be  a "Bespoke Course", as due to the changes that were announced by the HSE in October 2009, The Appointed Persons Course was withdrawn! - This Bespoke Course can be run between 4 and 6 hours and is not accredited by the HSE but will still be certificated by First Aid Works. This course covers the same basic topics as the 1 Day Emergency First Aid at Work course but gives a great deal more flexibility to purchasers with regard to time, costs, content and class numbers, and still enables learners to attend a First Aid Course and be certificated. Please contact us for more details if required. 

One Day Emergency First Aid at Work Course

This course is a 1 day First Aid course. We cover Basic First Aid on this one but also and equally importantly the responsibilities of the role of the First Aider under current legislation and their role in relationtion to the “First Aider” who as attended the 3 Day First Aid at Work Course.

This course is a 6 Hour (1 Day) course and is usually trained 09.30 - 16.30 - However times can be adjusted to suit your requirements.

Demonstrations and examples of good methods and best practice of keeping up to date with the contents of the First Aid Kit, ensuring there is a clear policy for employees to follow in the event of an emergency are just a couple of examples of what has been lost in previous courses  - not on our courses though!

The course content of the One Day Emergency First Aid at Work Course will include:

• Airway Management

• Unconscious Casualty

• The Respiratory System

• The Circulatory System

• Shock – Recognition and Treatment

• Bleeding and Wounds

• CPR – Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation

• Medical Emergency Conditions

• Burns

• Poisons and Gases

• Duties, Delegation and Legal Requirements

On successful completion of this course you will be issued with a certificate that is valid for 3 Years and is accredited by the Health and safety Executive.
